Trusted Partner for Top CEA Producers
From vertical farms to ag-tech manufacturers, M&F Talent has worked with a wide variety of controlled environment agriculture (CEA) clients. To this end, we realize that the CEA industry is comprised of more than farms, but also the equipment and technology that allow such operations to function. Since we are familiar with the languages of both horticulture and ag-tech, M&F Talent has captured a large market share of staffing work in the CEA space.
With the global population on the rise and increasing concerns about the environment, M&F Talent recognizes the societal value of controlled environment agriculture. Not only does indoor growing allow us to produce food closer to home, but it also uses far fewer resources than traditional farming. All things considered, we are very prideful about working in an industry with the potential to do so much good in the world.
To do the best possible job for our CEA clients, M&F Talent has worked tirelessly to learn about this emergent market. As such, we know the skills, products, technology, and professional certifications needed to fill specialized positions in controlled environment agriculture.

While the Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA) industry is expansive, the UC Davis website breaks it down like this, “the term controlled environment agriculture (CEA) encompasses a variety of systems that take a technology-based approach to farming. CEA can range from simple shade structures and hoop houses through greenhouses to full indoor or vertical farms. The most advanced systems are fully automated, closed loop systems with controlled lighting, water and ventilation.” Importantly, rapid advances in technology like LED lighting and smart controllers have made CEA production commercially viable for food crops and ornamentals.
The CEA industry is still young, but shows increasing growth on a year-after-year basis. In fact, the CEA market saw a major boost during COVID-19, as the pandemic uncovered major weaknesses in the global food supply chain. The CEA market did about $75 billion worth of business in 2020 and is expected to grow to $172 billion by 2025.
