Regional Sales Manager – Protein Processing Equipment
Our client – a leading manufacturer of machinery used by the protein processing industry – is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to lead equipment sales across the Northeastern US. This role is responsible for developing relationships with protein processors and food manufacturers, identifying production challenges, and recommending processing and packaging solutions that improve yield, efficiency, and product quality.
The Regional Sales Manager will work directly with plant leadership, engineering teams, and production managers at meat, poultry, seafood, and alternative protein processors to help optimize their production lines.
- Location: Northeast United States (Home-based + travel 60-65%)
- Type of Job: Full-time
- Compensation: $80-95K (plus benefits and commission)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow equipment sales across the Northeast U.S. territory
- Identify opportunities with protein processors, food manufacturers, and co-packers
- Consult with plant managers, engineering teams, and operations leaders to understand production challenges
- Recommend processing solutions, including portioning, slicing, tenderizing, grading, and packaging systems
- Manage the full sales cycle, including:
- Prospecting
- Customer site visits
- Equipment demonstrations
- Quotation development
- Negotiation and closing
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure the correct machine configurations are specified
- Support installation and startup coordination with customers
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business and equipment upgrades
- Represent the client at industry trade shows and processor facilities
- Maintain accurate sales forecasting and pipeline reporting
Qualifications
- 5+ years of capital equipment or technical sales experience
- Experience selling into protein processing, food manufacturing, or industrial processing environments
- Strong understanding of meat or poultry processing operations preferred
- Ability to communicate technical solutions to plant operations and engineering teams
- Demonstrated success in consultative sales and territory development
- Willingness to travel throughout the Northeast – 60-65%
