Facilities & Maintenance Manager – Hydroponic Greenhouse Operations

M&F Talent is representing a leading controlled environment agriculture (CEA) producer that is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations for a large-scale hydroponic greenhouse facility. This role is responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, maintaining critical greenhouse infrastructure, and leading preventive maintenance initiatives that support efficient, uninterrupted production.

The ideal candidate will bring strong electrical, mechanical, and automation experience, along with a hands-on leadership style and a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all preventive and corrective maintenance activities across greenhouse operations and facility infrastructure.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize HVAC, climate control, irrigation, fertigation, electrical, plumbing, conveyor, and packing systems.
• Support and maintain greenhouse automation platforms, including Priva, Hoogendoorn, Argus, or similar systems.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventive maintenance schedules and work order programs.
• Perform advanced electrical, mechanical, and plumbing diagnostics to minimize downtime.
• Oversee maintenance of conveyors, compressors, boilers, packing equipment, and related production systems.
• Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate vendors for equipment repairs and replacement components.
• Supervise, train, and develop maintenance technicians while promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace safety, and regulatory standards.
• Respond to equipment failures and emergency maintenance needs to maintain production continuity.
• Partner with Growing, Production, and Operations teams to support overall facility performance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, service documentation, and equipment history.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in greenhouse, food processing, manufacturing, or other industrial environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and industrial maintenance systems.
• Experience maintaining industrial conveyors, automation equipment, and facility infrastructure.
• Proven success developing and managing preventive maintenance programs.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
• Experience leading, training, or supervising maintenance personnel.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with greenhouse automation systems such as Priva, Hoogendoorn, Argus, or comparable platforms.
• Background in hydroponic, greenhouse, or controlled environment agriculture (CEA) operations.
• Knowledge of PrimusGFS, HACCP, GMP, or other food safety standards.
• Certifications in electrical, HVAC, industrial maintenance, automation, or related disciplines.
• Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
