West Coast Sales Manager – AgriTech

M&F Talent has a client in the AgriTech field that is looking to hire a new West Coast Sales Manager. Our client is a major player in the international horticultural sector – they create technical solutions that help growers produce food and flowers more sustainably.

Our client’s products include integrated control systems used in commercial-scale greenhouses: climate control systems, climate screens, CO2, dissolved oxygen, irrigation systems, and related mechanical and electrical systems.

Location: Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Commercial Director to develop sales strategy for the West Coast marketplace. based upon the strategic vision of the Company-wide strategic plan.West Coast Sales Manager
  • Present customers with a renewed focus on sales and service.
  • Coordinate with the U.S. service coordinator a plan to service existing customers in a more timely and effective manner, as well as develop new service programs to enhance customer care quality.
  • Establish relationships with key members of customers’ management teams to open a pipeline for more robust sales relationships.
  • Gather and analyze West Coast market data and customers’ needs to guide potential new sales opportunities.
  • Set aggressive, yet achievable, sales targets to grow the sales revenue of the West Coast office.
  • Develop and maintain a working technical knowledge of the product line.
  • Prepare customer project quotes and work with Operations departments to deliver project milestones.

Qualifications:

  • Motivated self-starter, able to multi-task and set appropriate priorities.
  • Proactive sales methodology; approach and sell to the customers (don’t wait for the customer to approach).
  • Consultative selling approach based on plant-centric product portfolio (work with the customer to sell a system and a solution, not just components of a project).
  • Excellent communication skills in a customer setting as well as with communication with various corporate departments.
  • Demonstrated track record of sales/customer growth in a region or territory.
  • Sales of technical and/or manufactured items is required.
  • Preferrable experience in a controlled environment agriculture setting.
  • Ability to travel within U.S. to meet with new and/or existing customers.
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience, preferably in a project sales market.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
