Retail Account Manager – Hydro Products

M&F Talent has a Canadian client in hydroponic products that is looking to hire a new Retail Account Manager for the Toronto, ON area. The Retail Account Manager will be responsible for educating customers, increasing sales, and providing the highest level of customer service.

This is an on-the-road position that requires a dedication to success. The Retail Account Manager will be responsible to drive sales for all hydroponic products across Eastern Canada and US. This job will be accomplished by visiting retail and commercial clients on a regular basis, building and maintaining relationships as well as seeking out new opportunities for growth.

  • Provide outstanding customer service to retailers, distributors and end-users.retail account manager
  • Visit retail and commercial clients frequently to provide education and support.
  • Establish trust with partner channels contacts, build stronger and more valued customer relationships.
  • Utilize sales process to uncover customer objections/concerns, and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Work closely with the Director of Business Development on new product developments. through sharing critical market intelligence for industry advancements and industry trends.
  • Strong process discipline, ability to align planning objectives with a pipeline development process to grow and develop market revenue.
  • Attend industry events, build relationships at store level and expand brand awareness.
  • Produce materials for and execute product knowledge sessions with store staff members, distributors and end-users.
  • Create and provide selling tools to distributors and retailers such as brochures, sell sheets and promotions.
  • Communicate directly with retailers and growers, provide samples for testing, collect data, photos and testimonials for R&D and future marketing purposes.
  • Input all customer and consumer data, activities and opportunities into CRM on a daily basis.


  • A University degree or college diploma in sales and/or marketing is preferred.
  • Progressive experience of at least 3 years in Sales is a must.
  • Knowledge of hydroponic, indoor and traditional/mainstream growing systems, gardening practices and methods preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • Highly evolved customer service skills.
  • Effective presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Demonstrated team player and effective leadership skills.
  • Valid driver’s License.
