Product Manager – Greenhouse Controls (North America)

M&F Talent is representing a leading provider of advanced greenhouse and indoor cultivation technologies that is seeking a Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, and commercialization of its controls platform across North America. This role will own the product roadmap across hardware and software systems while working cross-functionally to deliver scalable, secure, and market-driven solutions for commercial growers.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for controls platforms, including environmental controls, irrigation/fertigation automation, sensors, and cloud-based systems.
• Translate customer needs and market insights into clear product requirements, user stories, and technical specifications.
• Conduct market analysis across greenhouse, indoor agriculture, and adjacent sectors to prioritize product investments and growth opportunities.
• Lead customer discovery efforts with growers, integrators, and consultants to identify operational challenges and product improvements.
• Manage product development lifecycle, partnering with engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure solutions.
• Drive new product introductions, including pricing strategy, SKU development, sales enablement, and launch execution.
• Oversee full product lifecycle management, including updates, cost optimization, and end-of-life transitions.
• Define and track product performance metrics, including revenue, margins, and adoption of hardware and software solutions.
• Establish integration standards across systems such as HVAC, lighting, irrigation, and third-party devices using industry protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA).
• Build and manage strategic partnerships with OEMs, system integrators, and technology partners.
• Ensure product quality, reliability, and compliance with applicable safety and regulatory standards.

Requirements

• 7+ years of product management or related experience in industrial controls, building automation, agtech, or OT/IIoT environments.
• Experience managing both hardware and software product portfolios, including embedded systems and cloud-based platforms.
• Strong technical understanding of controls architecture, including sensors, controllers, networking, and system integrations.
• Proven ability to develop product strategy, market sizing, pricing models, and business cases.
• Experience in launching and scaling automation or controls-based products in commercial environments.
• Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with the ability to align engineering, operations, sales, and executive stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Agriculture, or a related field (advanced degree a plus).
• Data-driven mindset with experience defining KPIs and translating insights into product decisions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
• Willingness to travel up to 25–35% across North America.
