Produce Cultivation Manager

M&F Talent has a client in hydroponic vegetable production who is looking to hire a new Produce Cultivation Manager. Our client has a 300+ acre property in western Pennsylvania where they produce farm-to-table foods. Within this farm, their ⅓-acre greenhouse produces year-round tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, leafy greens, and berries.

Our client is seeking an experienced grower to manage all day-to-day operations of the ⅓-acre greenhouse. The primary aim of the Produce Cultivation Manager is to supply a farm share program and the in-house culinary team with a wide variety of fresh produce year-round

Location: Western PA


  • Direct and manage all aspects of growing mixed vegetables hydroponicallyproduce cultivation manager
  • Management and monitoring of greenhouse climate controls
  • Regular pest scouting and identification, spraying and beneficial releases as needed
  • Regular cleaning and maintenance of hydroponic greenhouses and equipment to maintain sanitary systems
  • Develop SOPs for daily work routines
  • Establish and enforce integrated pest management (IPM) protocols
  • Direct, teach, and work alongside assistant growers in the greenhouse
  • Seeding, transplanting, pruning, trellising as needed


  • 5+ preferred relevant growing experience or education
  • Extensive knowledge of the following: NFT and bato bucket hydroponic systems, direct seeding, transplanting, crop and succession planning, irrigation management and monitoring, pest management
  • Able to pass a background check
  • Must be fully vaccinated as currently defined by the CDC
  • Must be a hard-working team player with an energetic and positive attitude
  • Able to work in all weather conditions, and work on a ladder as needed
  • Have or be willing to acquire a private applicators license, able and willing to operate a backpack sprayer as part of pest control practices
  • All applicants should be comfortable around livestock (including chickens, pigs, Great Pyrenees dogs, and cattle) and typical farm
