Outside Sales Rep – Fertilizers

M&F Talent has a client who is a researcher and manufacturer of a proprietary line of natural plant fertilizers. Our client is looking to hire a new Outside Sales Rep to conduct business development with cannabis and hemp clients. The fertilizer product produces extremely high yields, as well as healthier, pest-resistant, plants. The Outside Sales Rep will be traveling as necessary to perform fertilizer sales activities.

The ideal Outside Sales Rep, in addition to a proven sales track record, ideally has an extensive Rolodex in the cannabis and hemp sectors or is well connected. This position is remote and the candidate could be based in any state in the Pacific or mountain region territory.

Location: West Coast and the Mountain States

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the values of the companyoutside sales rep
  • Be enthusiastic and passionate about the new products and selling them
  • Visiting clients
  • Conduct direct-to-grower sales
  • Cold call hydroponics stores and garden centers
  • Understand markets and market segmentation
  • Define customer needs & address them as appropriate
  • Promote and present the company’s products
  • Manage the sales cycle and continue prospecting activities and report as appropriate
  • Sell and promote the line of products offered by the company
  • Be familiar in such areas as fertilizers, plant nutrition/enhancement and how they affect crops, nutrition and nutritional program
  • Open new accounts and providing product training to end clients and distributors if required
  • Be responsible for the sales, and support tradeshows/marketing
  • Creating and writing monthly and quarterly reports

Qualifications:

  • Sales experience in the hydroponics/horticulture space
  • Understand sales processes with retail hydro shops and direct-to-grower
  • Possess strong negotiating and selling skills
  • A proactive approach to sales and follow up
  • Cold calling / Sample product onboarding to generate future sales
  • Have an extensive list of contacts in the cannabis/hemp sector
  • Used to delivering results
  • Coachable and willing to constantly learn
