North American Business Development Manager

Our client, an international leader in LED Lighting, is currently looking for a North American Business Development Manager who can play a key role in driving LED fixture demand across North America.  Target markets will include commercial growers in the Crop Science and Cannabis markets. The ability to manage relationships with horticultural re-sellers and distributors will also be a function of this role

We are ideally looking for an ambitious individual who has the ability to build, grow, and manage a North American organization as the company moves forward. Location: Remote Work / Home Office

Responsibilities: 

  • Increase sales for North America.
  • Energize, support, drive, and control reseller partners.
  • Understand customers/resellers buying decisions and skills to capitalize on this to close deals.
  • Study the North American horticultural (primarily Crop Science and/or Cannabis) market.
  • Communicate with home organization, including tech development and product management.
  • Represent and run company interests in North America, including commercial and technical matters beyond sales (with the support of HQ).
  • Handle basic technical and product support matters.
  • Build and develop the sales team.
  • Inspire credibility and Company values (quality, research-driven solutions).
  • Adapt to the work mode of the role.
  • Explain the technical attributes of horticultural lighting to prospective customers.

 Qualifications: 

  • Experience and proven results of “by the numbers” sales.
  • Experience in third party sales, through a reseller, wholesaler, distributor. Ability to motivate, control, and manage resellers.
  • Experience in project sales with project pricing and pricing models understanding. Experience from successful work with large accounts and managing long-term customer relationships.
  • Sufficient technical ability to handle basic technical and product support matters.
  • Ability to operate independently, a wide general understanding of commercial and basic technical matters (General manager capability).
  • Experience and seniority to credibly interact with customers and partners
  • Driven and energetic.
  • Willing to travel around North America.
  • Ability to work home office.
