Hort-Tech Sales Manager (Eastern U.S.)

Hort-Tech Sales Manager 

M&F Talent has a client in hydroponics equipment that is looking to hire a new Sales Manager for the Eastern United States. This person reports directly to the East Specialty Sales Director & Senior VP of Integration and Business Planning

Location: Eastern U.S.

Responsibilities:sales manager

  • Responsible for the development & support of accounts in the assigned territory.
  • Monitor sales trends; provide weekly visit summary reports to supervisor.
  • Handle and oversee the day-to-day sales, questions, and concerns from customers. Work with internal departments directly to help answer questions, and address concerns.
  • Identify, contact and support new accounts and document progress in lead manager. Properly submit new applications, and necessary documents to process opening new accounts.
  • Sales analysis on existing customers to identify weakness and opportunities to increase their business.
  • Relay to Supervisors and Product Development Department new product ideas or suggestions for product improvement.
  • Offer suggestions for client specific displays, samples, negotiations, subject to authorization of the Sales Director.
  • Monitor and maintain price overrides with a monthly review, suggest such overrides as needed, subject to authorization of the Sales Director.
  • Diligently maintain CRM notes regarding visits, calls, e-mails and any pertinent account information.
  • Participate in customer appreciation day/open house/new store opening and other events.
  • Travel – Approx. 3 days per week in assigned territory – document in CRM sales calendar – maintain and follow established visit matrix.

    • Prospective Customers
    • Trade Shows
  • Establish close working relationships with customers.
  • Learn pertinent aspects of Microsoft AX, CRM, and other key software programs.
  • Occasionally act as Cross-Over Support for other customer bases including but not limited to Commercial, Garden Center, Greenhouse, and other territories.
  • Responsible for completing expense and credit card reports in a timely manner as specified by policy.
  • Other duties as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with:  Sales, Customer Support, heavy phone communications and timely follow-up with voicemails, text messages and emails.
  • Experience with:  Word, Excel (intermediate) and Business writing – letters and other communications.
  • Excellent People Skills.  Able to work well independently and as a team member.
  • Able to handle stress and be able to multi-task.
  • Able to travel and follow company procedures when booking.
  • Able to take directions and understand the sales “Common Sense” policy.
  • Must have a positive, pro-company attitude and a sense of humor!
  • Minimum 2-3 years of outside sales experience required, preferably in related industry
