Director of Sales (Leamington, ON)

M&F Talent has a client in the horticulture/agriculture industry that is looking to hire a new Director of Sales. Our client is internationally established and offers promising growth potential to for the right candidate.

The Director of Sales will be responsible for overseeing all sales efforts to ensure that the performance of the Sales Team. The duties, responsibilities, and guidelines for this position could evolve over time as the situation changes with respect to products and services offered by our client.

Location: Leamington, ON (Canada)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and oversight to the sales process while leading a team of outside sales reps.Director of Sales
  • Monitor performance against targets, proactively managing performance of the entire direct sales field organization.
  • Nurture an environment within the sales team, as well as promoting relationships with other departments.
  • Communicate cross-functional needs of Supply Chain, Product Development, Marketing & Operations.
  • Develop national accounts and negotiate strategic alliances.
  • Oversee the planning & execution of trade shows with the Marketing team.
  • Develop and manage budgets and forecasts.
  • Create ways to drive more revenue from new and existing accounts.
  • Drive sales opportunities from a full lifecycle perspective, while being KPI and result-driven.
  • Manage pipeline development to supplement the efforts of Marketing and Inside Sales by contributing to email campaigns, conferences, local events, and a strong set of activities with partners.
  • Track records on all activity throughout the sales team and share it with Managing Partners on a weekly basis.
  • Take an active role in decision making for the North American Team.
  • Communicate with upper management on a regular basis and implement any changes in procedure.
  • Create a plan to allow the organization to grow within the North American market.
  • Develop a unique sales culture in the agriculture/horticulture industry.

Qualifications:

  • BA Degree in Agriculture, Business, or similar (preferred).
  • 5+ years of people management experience within the Agriculture Industry.
  • Technical understanding of agricultural processes like IPM (integrated pest management).
  • Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to build, coach, lead, and mentor teams.
  • Effective communicator with demonstrated written and verbal skills.
  • Capable of setting clear and deliverable goals for themselves and the team
  • Able to travel 40% – 50% of the year.
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours.
