Cannabis Marketing Manager

M&F Talent Partners is currently assisting a leading CO cannabis brand in their search for a Cannabis Marketing Manager.  The ideal candidate will work to ensure the brand and corporate identity continues to be represented strategically within the local, state, and national legal cannabis world, and within the local community. The Cannabis Marketing Manager supports the execution of the overall marketing strategy and will be responsible for coordination with internal resources and vendors. They expected to embrace and carry forward the established brand while driving the execution of ongoing marketing programs and special initiatives on a day-to-day basis.

A qualified Cannabis Marketing Manager will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills; knowledge of marketing and brand management best practices; the ability to educate and train internal staff, contractors, customers, vendors, and the public at large on marketing-related activities; project management skills to oversee dynamic and fast-paced initiatives while reinforcing and growing the marketing team. Impeccable organization and administrative skills are a must.

Responsibilities:cannabis marketing manager

  • Work closely with the marketing director and operational peers to execute and measure marketing strategy, objectives, and tactics
  • Maintain calendar overview and update project planning for internal product development and marketing initiative events with input from the Marketing Director
  • Manage the brands social media program through content creation, approvals, scheduling, execution, and analysis on Instagram, Facebook and other platforms
  • Draft copy for digital and print assets incorporating brand messaging standards and ongoing feedback on brand voice
  • With support from outside vendors, coordinate the creation of, and updates to, brand and corporate collateral. Ensure consistent application of brand standards and incorporate appropriate messaging.
  • Photography – manage the library, maintain a list of needs, facilitate photography requests (Requires ongoing collaboration with several team members who contribute photography assets
  • Graphic design – manage the library and coordinate requests with vendors
  • Sell sheet – manage current internal and customer-facing assets, draft new sell sheets based on templates
  • Logo asset – manage asset library, distribute to partners, coordinate requests for updates to vendors
  • Video – manage asset library, track requests, distribute to partners
  • Print material – manage digital assets, coordinate printing internally and with vendors
  • Exhibition materials – maintain existing inventory, coordinate requests for new materials with vendors
  • Merchandise – maintain accurate inventory counts, facilitate requests for restocks with outside vendors and partners, coordinate new merchandise development with outside vendors as requested by marketing director
  • Retail display materials – maintain accurate inventory, track distribution, coordinate new display development with guidance from marketing director
  • Coordinating execution with pre-approved marketing-related vendors to ensure quality, value and timely delivery of materials and services
  • Manage the reporting on vendor services, fees, and results for regular review by Marketing Director
  • Manage internal marketing opportunities
  • Proactively manage internal communications to ensure that all relevant functional areas are kept informed of marketing campaigns and objectives
  • Training customer-facing staff including delivery drivers and brand ambassadors
  • Draft and share the regular internal newsletter
  • Contribute to additional opportunities to add cohesiveness and strengthen communication among all members of the organization
  • Manage and track a pipeline of event, sponsorship, and competition opportunities and review this regularly with finance, operations, and production teams to move forward with strategic execution
  • Manage merchandise program including ordering, inventory tracking, and coordination with fulfillment partners
  • Assist in preparation of presentation materials for board and customers as needed by senior management
  • Provide program and project-based reporting on budget, expenditures
  • Provide regular reporting on marketing team KPIs

Qualifications:

  • College graduate
  • 4+ years of marketing/communications experience, with 2+ years previous experience working in the cannabis industry or strong knowledge of cannabis and cannabis productization and marketing (preferred)
  • Current MED keyholder badge
  • Team player that works proactively, effectively, and in collaboration with various marketing resources
  • Copywriting experience (previously executed work samples and writing test required during interview process)
  • Social media savvy
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Dropbox, Share Point, Adobe Creative Suite, Asana
  • Must have reliable transportation
