Quality Assurance Manager Job – Cannabis Division

M&F Talent has a client in the bioanalytical testing field that is looking to fill a Quality Assurance Manager job. The person will help oversee their new cannabis testing laboratory. Our client has an established history in bioanalytical contract testing for the pharmaceutical industry. They are putting their resources behind a new cannabis industry division. Our cannabis recruiting experts feel this position requires a more developed scientific background than seen with most cannabis jobs.

Location: Ithaca, New York

Quality Assurance Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the processes of the laboratory to inspect the study data associated with the cannabis division.
  • Communicate between various departments of the cannabis testing laboratory.
  • Evaluate and apply standards and quality principles to ensure compliance with appropriate laboratory regulations and standards.
  • Manage the cannabis division by applying quality standards to manufacturing operations, planning quality workflows, assigning projects, and training staff.
  • Conducts quality assurance assessments, audits, investigations, assurance reporting, etc.
  • Acts as the primary contact for clients and regulatory inspections and as the site expert for regulatory guidelines.
  • Reviews completed client laboratory reports for accuracy (e.g., accurately reflects the study of raw data), traceability and completeness.
  • Provides training to technical and professional staff on GLP regulations.
  • Quality Assurance Manager Job requires oversight of ongoing process improvements to improve best practices.
  • To instill and manages a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and productivity.
  • Participates in sponsor related inspections or inquiries, as required.
  • Works with team to provide input to help in setting project priorities. Sets QA/QC priorities relative to all quality initiatives.
  • Monitors the quality staff performance to ensure priorities are followed and deadlines are met.
  • Reports to Sr. VP of Technology and Operations
  • Continuously meet all company measures of effectiveness: laboratory health and safety, SOPs, policies and guidelines, state and federal regulations.
  • Work with software providers and other cannabis ancillaries.
  • Ensure that clientele is following the state-mandated cannabis compliance protocol.

Qualifications:

  • BA Degree in science or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in a GLP/GCP regulated environment
  • 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience
  • Advanced working knowledge of current regulatory guidelines including GLP and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Working knowledge of FDA Guidance for Industry, Bioanalytical Method Validation (LC/MS-MS preferred), and experience with LIMS workflows.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others with impact
  • Quality Assurance Manager Job requires outstanding experience with client satisfaction and problem-solving solutions
  • Experience working in the CRO/Pharma industry highly preferred
