Cannabis Sales Manager Job

M&F Talent is looking to fill a Cannabis Sales Manager job in Southern California. This person will drive growth for a up-and-coming client in the cannabis industry. Our client is state licensed producer of the highest quality cannabis distributed through legal dispensaries in California.  They are well funded with a state-of-the-art facility.  With an exceptional management team, and a solid operating foundation, they are building an iconic global cannabis brand.

Our cannabis recruiting staff feels this is a more customer facing position than seen in other cannabis jobs. As such, the ideal candidate will thrive in a gritty environment and isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and dive in. This role is best suited for an extroverted go-getter who doesn’t mind phone calls, driving, and ample face time.

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Cannabis Sales Manager Job Responsibilities: 

  • Oversee all functions of the sales life-cycle for a cannabis business including sales forecasting, direct relationship management and development, negotiation of buying agreements and lead conversion, deal evaluations, and approvals.
  • Develop annual and quarterly revenue plans, prepare monthly sales reports by product and channel to evaluate brand and product performance and develop annual and quarterly sales plans.
  • Ensure customers have proper inventory levels through sales tools, smart communication and in-house visits.
  • Understand and provide insights on sales drivers and recommend new opportunities to drive incremental growth.
  • Attend cannabis industry trade shows, conferences, conventions, and other professional events in an effort to stay current on industry trends as well as to interact with potential and existing customers.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations on the following activities: forecasting activities, developing revenue targets, budgeting and developing sales operations processes and compensation plans.
  • Cannabis Products Sales Manager will monitor the market to observe emerging trends and competition in cannabis retail.
  • Work with Branding and Marketing teams to develop advertising strategy and promotional activities.

Cannabis Sales Manager Job Requirements: 

  • 7+ years of outside sales in consumer packaged goods, minimum 3 to 5 years of people management.
  • Knowledge of cannabis industry, regulations, market trends and competition highly preferred.
  • Bachelors degree desired.cannabis sales manager job
  • Demonstrated experience of exceeding sales quotas.
  • Proven ability to build and execute a sales strategy to generate and develop new business.
  • Experience of P&L and budget management.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience working in sales management systems.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgement, common sense and resourcefulness.
  • Cannabis Sales Manager job requires thriving in a demanding and fast-paced cannabis retail environment.
  • Understand and comply with company rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of cannabis business
  • Have a solid understanding of Marijuana laws, rules and regulations set forth by the state of CA and the D.O.A.
  • Must pass any and all required background checks.
  • Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
