M&F Talent has a client in the LED horticultural lighting market that supplies lights for cannabis, indoor farming, and greenhouses. Our client is looking to fill an LED Business Development job to stimulate sales efforts in the US marketplace. This position is designed as a selling and market-building position that will provide account-level leadership to identify and qualify prospects, create plans, and execute against these plans. Our hydroponics recruiting team feels this is a more technical career than seen in most horticulture jobs.

Location: United States (Remote Work)

LED Business Development Job Responsibilities:

  • Grow new business by demonstrating and selling lighting solutions to large market commercial accounts while continuing to drive revenue in our existing customer.
  • Coordinate full sales cycle from initial prospecting to signed contracts through to ongoing account.
  • Conduct extensive research to understand potential clients’ goals, objectives, and challenges.
  • Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts through proper reporting in the Company’s CRM.
  • Specify hardware, software, and technical services based on our customers’ application.
  • Provide input to continually improve the overall sales process of cultivation technology.
  • Develops and nurtures strong customer contacts and positive, proactive relationships with channel partners and dealers/contractors.
  • LED Business Development Manager will identify competitor products, promotions and sales.
  • Maintains competitive knowledge to create and adjust sales within the indoor gardening market.
  • Participate regularly in marketing activities (e.g., industry trade shows).
  • Update knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading trade journals, maintaining personal networks and participating in the industry.LED business development job

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of directly handling complex sales cycles with large accounts.
  • Professional experience in a greenhouse or with horticulture.
  • Working knowledge of the controlled environment agriculture (CEA) space
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Expert understanding of the hydroponics marketplace.
  • LED lighting and or lighting sales experience a major plus.
  • Proven and verifiable successful track record in sales in a fast-paced, results-oriented.
  • Experience with and understanding of CRM systems, Salesforce a plus.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills in working with customers, partners and teammates across all functions.
  • LED Business Development Manager position requires up to 80% travel.
  • Demonstrated ability to be effective while working remotely.
