M&F Talent is looking to fill a Horticultural HVAC Product Manager job for a client in hydroponics cultivation technology. The position requires the overall management of HVAC product lines as they relate to controlled environment agriculture operations. Our client is targeting customers in cannabis, horticulture, greenhouse, and hydroponics production. The horticulture staffing team at M&F Talent feels this opportunity requires more technical and managerial acumen than most horticulture jobs.

Location: Washington / Oregon

Horticultural HVAC Product Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Financial responsibility of the HVAC division.
  • Oversee product development, improvement, and testing for horticulture applications.
  • Manage warranty program development and maintenance.
  • Parts sourcing and sales/market expansion, vendor selection and negotiation.
  • Responsible for coordination with purchasing, sales, customer service, and sourcing.
  • Provide product training, packaging instruction, manuals, marketing support, etc.
  • Oversee and is actively involved in product cost management and cost take-out, inventory management, sales activity/growth and awareness to the SKU level.
  • Capture sales of key accounts with cannabis companies.
  • Responsible for sales product forecasting and purchase order preparation that allows adequate lead-time to meet sales demand and allows for inventory “ramp down” for the slower seasonality of the product line.
  • Manage the improvement/maintenance of our existing product offering, assist and help qualify new products and suppliers.
  • Share oversight and mentorship of the RMA team and Technical Service Support Specialists.
  • Engage outside service providers as necessary and pre-approved service technicians.
  • Develop a business plan to service new markets (sales, sub-distribution, warranty, etc.).
  • Interact, coordinate and collaborate with ETL Engineer to address compliance issues and testing.
  • Attend domestic and international trade shows to represent the company’s interests.
  • Collaborate with sales and sourcing departments to establish company objectives, developing strategic plans, and identifying company strengths and weaknesses in order to achieve business opportunities and growth.
  • Plan, organize, implement and evaluate outcomes of the department’s strategic plans.

Horticultural HVAC Product Manager Job Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience (minimum) in Commercial / Residential HVAC systems.
  • BA degree in business or related field.
  • Understanding of basic electrical engineering work.
  • Exceptional multi-tasking skills & attention to detail in a technical career field.
  • Preferred: Knowledge of the horticulture / controlled environment agriculture industry.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience managing teams.
  • Interest in the cannabis industry (preferred).
  • Horticultural HVAC Product Manager job requires the ability to travel.
  • Experience managing multiple vendors and optimizing their performance.
