M&F Talent has a client in horticultural products who are looking to fill a Hydroponics Substrates Sales Manager job. Our client is one of the world’s leading supplier of innovative products and systems based on stone wool, improving the environment and the quality of life for millions of people.

The Hydroponics Substrates Sales Manager job requires the sale of innovative and sustainable stone wool substrate solutions for the professional horticulture and cannabis sector. These high tech stone wool substrates are offered together with tailor-made advice and tools to support sustainable crop cultivation in greenhouses and CEA applications. Our client’s solutions are used for the cultivation of many crops including cannabis, tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet peppers, eggplants, and roses. Our hydroponics recruiting team feels this position requires more customer service experience than seen with most hydroponics careers.

Hydroponics Substrates Sales Manager Job Responsibilities:

  • Give input and implement Operational Business; action plans, pricing plans and execute these plans for the sales department for the responsible regions and segments.
  • Identify potential customers and projects by use of self-collected market information and of networking with colleagues.
  • Cultivate potential market within a defined market segment based on the yearly sales plan, sales action plans and standards of performance to be realized.
  • Inform colleagues and managers about new and existing products and applications of competitors.
  • Keep own knowledge updated by participating in relevant seminars, workshops, etc.
  • Make price and discount decisions within agreed authorization levels.
  • Build, expand and maintain existing and potential markets in order to achieve the defined goals; maintaining personal contacts with key accounts/stakeholders.
  • Provide Business/Sales manager monthly reporting on forecasts, market trends, opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Develop or maintain a strong distribution network committed to supporting the total portfolio.
  • Dealer management: make dealer action plans in line with the agreements and strategy for that distributor and execute these plans
  • Take ownership for achieving sales budget, volume and price increases for the responsible market segment or area
  • Inform manager of all relevant market information on competitors
  • Maintain strong relationships with (key) customers both direct and indirect.
  • Systematically register all relevant information in CRM system and sales file.
  • Have commercial and technical contacts with potential market relations in cultivation technology.
  • Build customer relations and gain a position in the network of the parties involved.
  • Report information about sales and commercial activities, trends, competition new and existing products, and applications.
  • Actively set up training for indoor gardening Hydroponics substrates sales manager jobcustomers in conjunction with Business Support.
  • Take care of claims and after-sales activities.
  • Explain how products work in ebb and flow and nutrient film technique hydro systems.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant higher vocational level degree and substantial relevant working experience.
  • 3+ years’ experience in similar positions ideally within companies/industries which are suitable for the role and within companies working with dealers’ channel.
  • Ability to establish rapport with distributors, customers internal and external and stakeholders.
  • Expert grasp on vertical farming / urban agriculture operations.
  • Strong grasp on hydroponic fertilizer applications.
  • Very good understanding of hydroponics product proposition and marketing- sales strategies.
  • Regular use of sales IT tools
  • Written and spoken English
  • Excellent commercial sales skills. Strong Negotiation skills.
