Mac & Fulton Talent Partners has a horticultural lighting client that is interested in filling an LED Lighting Sales Director job. Our client is a market leader in horticultural lighting and they are looking to expand their global footprint by hiring the candidate for this important position. The job requires networking with clients in cannabis cultivation, vertical farming, urban agriculture, and controlled environment agriculture (CEA). As such, a previous book of business in these emergent markets is a serious selling point for any interested candidate.

The Sales Director will lead a sizable sales team and coach them on a variety of platforms including organization, communication, and technical sales. Our hydroponics recruiting team feels this job affords more stability than most hydroponics careers.

Location: Texas

LED Lighting Sales Director Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the comprehensive success of the national sales team
  • Manages all facets of sales-related operations: account plans, forecasting revenue and expenses, establishing compensation plans and policies
  • Assists with the implementation of marketing plans
  • Creates calculated sales campaigns and plans to help the company achieve sales goals
  • Develop fruitful relationships with hydroponics industry front-runners
  • Lead the sales team with enthusiasm and gumption
  • Forecast sales number according to seasonality and market fluctuations
  • Assist with contractual negotiations
  • Spearhead hiring, training, and performance records for the sales team
  • Maintain detailed records/metrics of sales performances
  • Travel extensively throughout the United StatesLED lighting sales director job
  • Stay abreast of advancements in cultivation technology (horticultural lighting, hydroponics systems, environmental controls, greenhouse design)
  • Teach the sales team the technical applications of LED lighting products
  • Understanding of the customer base in CEA markets and garden supply stores
  • Active knowledge of the challenges facing growers in cannabis cultivation operations

Qualifications:

  • BA in Business or like field (M.B.A. strongly desired)
  • 5 years of experience managing a team of account managers
  • 10 years of verifiable success in sales positions
  • Expert understanding of the horticulture/hydroponics industry
  • Superb written and verbal communication
  • Leadership skills: ability to nurture motivation and enthusiasm in sales teams
  • Passion for horticulture and indoor gardening
  • Proficient with MS Word, Office, Excel
