Hydroponics Electrical Engineer Job

M&F Talent is looking to fill a Hydroponics Electrical Engineer job for a hydroponics equipment manufacturer in California. The Hydroponics Electrical Engineer will be responsible for applying electrical-electronic theory and related knowledge to help the New Product Development team in the development of equipment for use in hydroponics, indoor gardening, greenhouse, cannabis, and Garden Center categories. Our horticulture staffing experts feel this is a more technical career than seen with most horticulture jobs.

Location: Petaluma, CA

Hydroponics Electrical Engineer Job Responsibilities:  

  • Highly motivated well-organized results-oriented individual with a proven track record.
  • An understanding of electrical concepts including electrical circuits, PCB layout, and product layout and design
  • Modifies and reports on electrical prototypes to correct ineffective operations and deviations to support company evaluations and directives of new items.
  • NPD research will focus on controllers, electronic ballasts, lighting devices and other electrical equipment and components as required used in hydroponic gardening.
  • Will understand the causes of electrical or mechanical malfunction/ failure of operational equipment for use in the development of new products.
  • Works internally – and with the manufacturer – on new and established products for evaluations and modifications and enhancements to design and product use.
  • Understand applications of environmental controls within controlled environment agriculture (CEA) operations.
  • Will communicate information regarding product use.
  • Understand the installation of new electrical components and the maintenance and repair of existing electrical wiring on printed circuit boards.
  • Electrical Engineer must interact with Customer Service Representatives to resolve issues about indoor gardening equipment.

Qualifications: hydroponics electrical engineer job

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 2 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer.
  • Prior work experience in the hydroponic/ horticultural lighting industry (preferred).
  • Motivated and eager to learn.
  • An understanding of electrical wiring as related to grow room design (preferred).
  • Expert knowledge of cannabis cultivation technology (preferred).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
